Distrigas Process Metering ®
Metering leads to lower consumption
An enhanced inside view of your company's processes leads to more rational energy management. During a Process Metering, we monitor the operation unit we want to optimize by means of spot metering and/or long-term metering campaigns.
In the latter case, our dataloggers record, for a clearly defined period, all process parameters that are relevant for finding out more about how your installation is used. Your consumption during operations at nominal load, start-up, stop and on-hold, as well as during weekends, will be made 'visible'.
After the metering process and discussing the findings, you will receive a confidential report with convenient diagrams. You can analyze the Process Metering findings or have a Process Advice drawn up by our thermal energy experts.
What Process Metering can do for you?
- Access Distrigas Gas Services metering resources and expertise.
- Receive a confidential report with clear diagrams revealing your facilities’ process flows 'visible' over time.
- Convenient diagrams reveal inconsistencies and anomalies.
- Metering data to help lower energy costs (e.g. start-up distribution, peak shaving, optimizing combustion, etc.).
Process Metering - practical example
A large textile manufacturer inquired about the possibility of using hot air generated (and lost) during the production process to heat the workshop.
Marc Laes, Metrology Specialist at Distrigas Gas Services: "For an entire week, Distrigas Gas Services carried out Process Metering on all flows and speeds in certain pipes. The data were recorded with a datalogger and sent to our computers via telemetry. Based on the findings, we drafted a confidential report. All flows and temperatures were set out in convenient tables and diagrams. The customers used the data for further analysis, looked for the most efficient solution, implemented it and saved between 10 and 15%."
We measure the following parameters:
- Temperature (via probes or infrared), pressure, flow and moisture
-
Emissions of:
- CO2, using infrared equipment
- NOx, using a heated probe and chemical luminescence
- oxygen, using a paramagnetic device
- CO, to check for complete combustion
- SO2, for consumers of liquid fuels
We measure
- gasses (natural gas, air, flue gasses, etc.)
- fluids (water, oils)
- steam
- etc...
