In process optimization, we always strive to optimize your existing installations first. Significant investments are only considered in the second phase. In this way you can lower your consumption without incurring unnecessary costs.
Process Advice - practical example
A European manufacture of gypsum blocks was looking for an energy-efficient way to optimize the drying process at one of its sites.
Pieter-Jan Jordens, Thermal & Metrology Engineer at Distrigas Gas Services: "Based on our metering data, we examined how we could use non-capital-intensive means to make a significant reduction in the consumption while increasing throughput. By combining the customer's expertise in gypsum processes with our expertise in thermal processes, we were able to upgrade existing installations to state-of-the-art status. We tested the results by comparing the upgraded performance of the unit with the performance of a new machine: they were the same. Thanks to the Process Advice, our customer saw its specific energy consumption drop by 20% while increasing its throughput by 12%. In addition to this, the upgrade led to a 20% reduction in CO2 emissions."
